CBRgot hooked onto this wonderful soul singer from UK while watching an episode of studio 60.

Like a Star and Trouble Sleeping are two great singles released in the last couple of years.

Khosla ka Ghosla – Chak de Phatte

on the outset, this song might sound shallow; i thought it was and was almost dismissive towards it until i heard this part:

yeh duniya mast kalandar
taa ate utte bethha bandar
samjhe apnoo sikandar
ede chakde phatte

yeh duniya vaari vaari
chakde saare nar naari
tu kahnoo baniya adhikhari
ede chakde phatte

extraoridnarily profound indeed! the converse of “all that glitters” applies here i guess…

a good interlude can make or break a song

case in point, saawariyan from swades has a brilliant interlude followed by the slightly cacophonic voice of alka yagnik (compared to the amazing piece of music preceding it)

also a gret interlude + bad rest of song example is Its the time to disco from kal ho na ho … great great interlude

sometimes a song might have a good piece in the middle of it for which u have to listen to the rest of the not so great song; interesting…

I was driven up the wall by the Aadat Remix from Kalyug. Then recently i listened to the original version (finally) at a friends farewell party, and it struck me deep somewhere… do give it a listen sometime…

Note: its weird, but the video version is different from the audio version.. wonder why?
